Feedback - Experiential learning trip to UK, 2018

Mr Manikandan, Correspondent- Ayyappa School, Karaikudi
Dear All, It is from my inner heart I am sharing this with my family of friends. After I reached Karaikudi, I started implementing many things what I visited in UK. Though we already follow certain things, few things have gained more importance after our visit to theUK. We are the only school (nursery and primary level) in a sub urban area to have visited UK. 1) Teachers are being educated and motivated much by showing the pictures and notes taken in UK. 2) Assemblies have become very colourful 3) Students are encouraged to share their ideas in each and every activity. 4) The already colourful walls are now talking 5) Circle time 6) Teachers are coming up with lots of charts, models and teaching materials. Thanks to Maalathi Mam for everything

Any system is only as good as the people in it. So true change happens when people's mindsets change. The experiential learning tour of schools in Oxford was an eye opener and at the same time revitalised our belief in the Indian education system in part. Transformation for excellence entails participation in such rejuvenating programmes. Thank you Dr. Maalathi and Preeya for your wonderful initiative to help educators and other like minded people.

The educators experiential learning programme was a great experience as an educator and as a human.unlike regular programs, from the diverse participants with rich experience ,to making us explore and experience by self has not just sharpened our skills as an educator but has also facilitated to sharpen skills for life.
Visiting schools which were structured with focused learners made us realise that every school should focus on educating learners the learning skills apart from being a knowledge hub.
the self-disciplined learners with focus on task and vibrant classrooms with visuals with emphasis on language and key concepts was a treat to our eyes and learning for life. it was yet another opportunity to remind that education is for transformation and the educator's are the transformers.
Special thanks to the organiser for giving us experience for life.

The Educators Experiential Learning was a one of a kind experience for me as an educator. Right from the word go, our learning commenced. The idea of visiting schools in the UK was brilliant. One, it was a reaffirmation of my very own beliefs as an educator in India. Two, it opened my eyes to the fact that every corner of a school can contribute to the learning of a child, the reading spaces, the lively displays, the pleasant teachers, the observant learners, the organisation of outdoor spaces within the campus, everything. Three, silence is golden because being silent doesn't mean absence of thought or learning, it means creating of learning communities within the school where learning is louder than voices. Four, I learnt that educators should be self-motivated, self-empowered and self-driven. Five, our education should put the child at the centre and should be focused on developing them for the future.
Through my interaction with fellow educators and heads of schools from across the country, I learnt that I should value the wisdom of the past and combine it with the ever progressive education system of the present to deliver the best to the child.
I can go on and on but I have to stop here...My biggest thanks to Dr. K.R. Maalathi and Auuro Education Services for making this trip possible for me and for giving me this opportunity to learn from the best of the best! It was an enriching experience and I'm definitely a better educator now than I was before the program. Thank you ma'am.

My #1 reason for attending this programme was to find out what “worked” for other colleagues in my field of developmental education. And know what—my answer was provided more than I imagined.
This Workshop was definitely a life-changing programme for me, both personally and professionally. It not only inspired me to be the best educator I can possibly be, but it also equipped me with numerous strategies and tools that I can use to ignite my students to achieve success in academic and life, more importantly it reignited my passion for teaching and learning!
Professional and Personal Development is important, however, having them both occur simultaneously is extremely empowering not only to the individual, but also for the students served and the institutions in which we work. The ‘ripple effect’ at it’s best.
I whole-heartedly thank Dr.Mrs.K.R.Maalathi Madam for organizing such a wonderful experiential learning programme for educators across India.
